About

About Me

I believe being brought into our sense of wonder and beauty has the power to open us to personal, emotional and spiritual insights. I am a visual artist residing in Victoria, BC (Lekwungen territory), and I get to spend every day creating work that attempts to bring people into that sense. I am a painter, drawer, animator, and tattoo artist, and I am passionate about my work.

My art covers an array of mediums and subjects. Growing up on Northern Vancouver Island, I was provided with an endless supply of artistic inspiration in the natural world around me so my art often includes plants and animals of the West Coast. Painting portraits is also a specialty of mine, using watercolour, oil paint, or inlaying copper and shell into wood. I am also a tattoo artist, creating wearable art for people to carry with them for the rest of their lives. Stop-motion animation is another medium I have worked in – writing, animating, and scoring short films that have screened in over 100 film festivals around the world. I have won 12 awards for my animation work.

One of my favourite things is doing custom work. I find joy in taking someone’s idea and bringing it to life for them. To order a custom piece of art, click here.

Part of being a person of privilege in this land means learning how to use that privilege for the good of those around me. I use a sliding scale model for a lot of the work I do, and I donate a portion of all my profits to Reciprocity Trusts, an initiative that collects from businesses and redistributes wealth to local indigenous nations. If you are interested in buying work from me but you face financial barriers or are part of a marginalized group, please reach out and we’ll have a chat! Everyone deserves art regardless of income.

Land Acknowledgement

I live and work on the unceded indigenous territory of the Lekwungen people. I do my best to walk gently on this beautiful land, and I strive to support the communities who have tended it for thousands of years. One way I do this is by donating a percentage of my profits to Reciprocity Trusts.
